SOS Rape Crisis is a local charity that is dedicated to supporting women and young people who have survived sexual violence in our communities. The local charity provides confidential and non-judgemental support for survivors of any form of sexual abuse that has occurred at any time in their lives – whether it has occurred recently, a long time ago or is still happening.
The Synergy Essex Rape Crisis Partnership, comprising of South Essex Rape and Incest Crisis Centre (SERICC), Southend Rape Crisis Centres (SOSRC) and Mid & North Essex Centre for Action on Rape and Abuse (CARA) are three independent dedicated specialist sexual violence organisations, providing services across the whole of Essex, working with individuals who are suffering or have suffered trauma as a result of sexual violence they have experienced. SynergyEssex have entered into a binding partnership arrangement to progress co-production, define and disseminate best practice and meet individual survivors needs across the county of Essex. The partnership works through a community based sexual violence model that is accessible, safe, appropriate and has regard for individual needs from the first point of contact.

SOS Rape Crisis supports survivors who live in the area of Southend-on-Sea, Castle Point, and Rochford.
The organisation operates with women staff and volunteers as a means of achieving the charitable aims and objectives of its constitution This is specified within organisational recruitment processes and procedures which meet the terms of The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1(single-sex provision).
Whilst offering Specialist Support Services for all ages and all genders – SOS Rape Crisis work from a woman’s centered perspective by offering a service led by women for women.
SOS Rape Crisis is looking to recruit an Adult ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to provide specialised support which involves providing information and support through the criminal justice system, to any adult who is a survivor of sexual violence.
The role is a full-time post located and operated from SOS Rape Crisis with outreach in Castle Point and Rochford, Essex where necessary.
Job Role: Adult ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor)
Hours: Full Time located at SOS Rape Crisis.
Working hours will be flexible to meet service/client need.
Salary: (Scale Point 27) (unqualified)
(Scale Point 29-31) (ISVA qualified)
- A recognised ISVA qualification or working towards achieving within the next two years
- Proven experiences of supporting victims.
